- "The mission must be completed. I am not broken."
- ―MT-7
MT-7 was a BX-series droid commando who briefly participated in the Clone Wars as a soldier of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. His first mission sent him to the planet Akiva, but a rainstorm soon separated him from the rest of his unit. The storm left MT-7 damaged, immobilized, and unable to finish his mission. MT-7 was trapped on Akiva for several years and still remained operative in 3 ABY. By that time, MT-7 was located at an Abandoned Hideout, trapped by debris as a result of the rainstorm.
Biography
- "BX unit reporting, designation MT-7. Help is needed. Reconnaissance mission incomplete."
- ―MT-7
MT-7 was a BX-series droid commando who served the Confederacy of Independent Systems as a soldier in the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars.[1] By 19 BBY,[3] he was deployed to the jungle planet Akiva as part of a unit consisting of himself and several B1-series battle droids. He was tasked with locating a high-ranking Separatist officer's crashed vessel. MT-7 and his unit were based at an Abandoned Hideout located in the Akivan region known as the Karaba Foothills. However, a rainstorm separated the unit and left MT-7 damaged and stranded for decades.[1]
MT-7 was stranded on Akiva by the time of the Galactic Civil War.
By the time of the Galactic Civil War in 3 ABY,[4] MT-7 remained untouched, unaware that the Clone Wars had ended and obsessed with completing his mission. MT-7 was in a critical condition, with his actuators and comms rendered inoperable due to the damage he had sustained from the rainstorm. At that point, MT-7 was trapped by debris as an aftermath of the monsoon, rendered incapable of moving.[1]
In that year,[4] the scoundrel Kay Vess and her partner-in-crime, the BX unit ND-5, discovered the stranded MT-7 when they traveled to the Abandoned Hideout. Vess and ND-5 helped locate MT-7's unit and allow MT-7 to transmit intel that was collected and left by his squad, convincing him to believe that his mission was successful. ND-5 later claimed that General Grievous had dispatched him to pass on his personal commendations to MT-7 before ordering him to stand down. At MT-7's request, ND-5 and Kay Vess received his decryption module, allowing them to decode Separatist transmissions made during the Clone Wars.[1]
Characteristics
- "Clone Wars? Are you saying he's been out here for 25 years?"
"I've seen this before with BX-units that can no longer complete their objectives. They get fixated on them, lose their sense of place and time. I doubt he realizes the war ended." - ―Kay Vess and ND-5
MT-7 was a BX-series droid commando with the same attributes as other BX models,[1] standing 1.91 meters tall,[2] along with having white sensors and silver plating. Although he had the programming of a standard BX unit, MT-7 became obsessive in completing his mission after being stranded on Akiva, unable to identify his surroundings and having difficulty in speech.[1]
Equipment
- "Will you take my decoder module? To keep it from the enemy."
- ―MT-7, to ND-5
MT-7 was equipped with a decryption module, which granted access to encrypted Separatist transmissions.[1]
