MP-77 was a protocol droid who served the Galactic Republic during the Great Galactic War against the Sith Empire. MP-77 had a yellow sensor and grey plating.

At one point during the war, the droid was located on board Carrick Station, a Republic space station, where it made contact with a number of Republic agents recommended by Republic High Command for a mission to the planet Taral V. Once it had confirmed the agents' identities using a facial scanner, the droid then contacted Jedi Master Oteg via hologram. Oteg asked that the agents help him rescue a Jedi imprisoned by the Empire on the Taral V, which the heroes agreed to do.

Behind the scenes

MP-77 first appeared in the 2011 BioWare MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. In the game the droid serves as a Flashpoint courier for the optional Taral V flashpoint, starting the quest "The Jedi Prisoner". This article assumes that players accepted and completed the quest as part of one hundred percent game completion; however, it makes no assumption about which player characters took part in the mission or interacted with MP-77.
