- "A newer model of medical droid, the MD-15C was designed with a vastly larger database that allows it to treat thousands of additional species."
- ―R0-GR
The MD-15C medical droid[3] was a model of MD-series medical droid[1] with a humanoid body shape and white plating. Their two arms had modular appendage sockets at the elbow joint and their featureless faces were designed to be non-threatening.[3] A newer model than the 2-1B surgical droid, it had a vastly larger database that allowed it to treat thousands of additional species.[2]
An MD-15C medical droid was stationed in one of the private medical suites onboard the Resistance's MC85 Star Cruiser Raddus[3] and treated General Leia Organa there in the year 34 ABY,[5] when she was injured during an attack on the Resistance fleet by the First Order.[4]
Behind the scenes
An MD-15C medical droid first appeared in the film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi,[4] which was released on December 15, 2017.[6] The character was not named in the film,[4] but received identification in Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo[3] and released in conjunction with the film.[7]
