M13 was an Imperial Repair Station on the planet Mycroft in the Fakir sector. The structure was built in an area of low, forested mountains on the planet. The Empire built M13 to give support, in the form of repairing and refueling, to Imperial vessels operating on the fringes of the sector. Only ships small enough to land on the planet could be serviced, typically scout and picket ships.[1] The station had berthing facilities to handle twelve TIE fighters, six one-person scout ships, and two multi-system patrol boats.[2]
M13 was staffed by around thirty personnel, including mechanics, doctors, bureaucrats, and various other support personnel. Twenty stormtroopers were assigned to the outpost to defend it. The base complement was sometimes augmented by the crews of Imperial vessels for shore leave while their ships were being repaired, and occasional civilian was known to be allowed into the outpost. The base's warehouses contained general supplies as well as blasters, ammunition, food, and ship parts.[1]
The installation was protected by a frigate stationed in orbit, as well as TIE fighters berthed at the outpost itself. The stormtrooper complement had three armed landspeeders at their disposal, as well as a number of reconnaissance droids. The entire outpost was circled by an electric fence which was designed to deter the predators in the local area from encroaching on the base. In the event of an attack that would cause the base to be overrun by the enemy, a self-destruct mechanism could be armed and triggered.[1]
M13 was a target of Rebel General Lens Reekeene's Operation Retribution. A team was sent there to harass the base, capture prisoners, steal vital equipment, and ultimately destroy the base if possible. In order for the attack to be successful, Reekeene also attacked a space station in another system so that the frigate and fighters protecting M13 would be redeployed there, reducing its protection.[1]
