Luke's T-16 skyhopper was was the customized T-16 skyhopper owned by Luke Skywalker.[8] While flying his T-16 skyhopper, he nearly killed himself on a reckless burnout run in Beggar's Canyon,[1] which burned the skyhopper's instrumentation, leaving it inoperable. Lacking a real T-16 to fly, Skywalker turned to playing with his model T-16.[4] Skywalker's exploits with his T-16 demonstrated prodigious flying ability, making him a local legend.[9]
