«Or maybe if I could convince a lucksprite to swim with us…»

A lucksprite was an entity found on[1] the Outer Rim[2] Forest Moon of Endor that could swim and was believed by the Ewok[1] warrior[3] Meedro to bring luck.[1] In 4 ABY,[4] Meedro and the Ewok[1] Asha Fahn[5] sought a way to cross Endless Lake so they could rescue the Ewok[1] Wicket Wystri Warrick[6] who had been taken hostage by a group of Imperials. As Meedro knew crossing the lake would not be easy,[1] he[3] suggested he could try to convince a lucksprite to swim with them, to which Fahn stated that luck was for the unprepared and called a condor dragon to carry the two over the lake.[1]

Behind the scenes

A lucksprite was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the third issue of the 2024 comic series Star Wars: Ewoks. The issue was written by Steve Orlando and published by Marvel Comics[1] on December 18, 2024.[7]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, lucksprites[8] were sentient individuals[9] believed by Ewoks to be responsible for meting out good or bad fates to those that lived on the Forest Moon of Endor.[8] They first appeared in flashbacks in "Just My Luck,"[9] the eighteenth episode in the second season of the animated series Ewoks, which premiered on November 22, 1986.[10]
