Lorrdian Cowl of Quiescence

The Lorrdian Cowl of Quiescence was a blue cowl with a box-like head covering, a narrow slit over the eyes covered in black fabric, and coverings that extended down over the shoulders and front of the torso. A longer strip of fabric ran down each side of the torso covering with a yellow section at the end, and the cowl also had yellow sections on either side of the head.^[1]

The Lorrdian male known as the High Priest wore the Lorrdian Cowl of Quiescence with the Blue Gown of the Sullen Moon,^[2] which shared the cowl's blue and yellow color scheme,^[1] while leading the Brotherhood of the Beatific Countenance on a pilgrimage to Jedha City on the moon Jedha shortly before^[2] the city's destruction by the Death Star superweapon in 1 BBY.^[3] Having abandoned individuality, the High Priest could be identified by the concealing cowl and gown,^[2] which were distinguishable from the orange robes worn by other members of the brotherhood.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The Lorrdian Cowl of Quiescence appeared in the Anthology Series film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story^[4] which was released on December 16, 2016.^[5] Prior to the film's release, the cowl was revealed as part of a reel of promotional footage for Rogue One shown at Celebration Europe on July 15, 2016.^[6] The cowl's name was then provided in the accompanying reference book Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo^[1] and released on the same day as the film.^[5]
