Linen[3] was a clothing material used for tunics[2] and pajamas.[1] Following the fall of the Galactic Empire, it was utilized on various planets and came in diverse colors.[1][2]

In the New Republic Era, light purple linen pajamas was used by the human youngling Wim from the isolated planet of At Attin.[1] Around 9 ABY,[4] the boy[5] was dressed in that sleepwear as he had an evening study session, revising for the Career Assessment Test scheduled for the following day. When studying was interrupted by his father Wendle, Wim lay on his bed and asked for a bedtime story, a request his dad declined, pointing out the boy's age. Instead of trying to sleep, Wim turned on his datapad and immersed himself in reading tales of old.[1]

Years later, on the desert planet of Jakku, the explorer Lor San Tekka sported a dark blue linen tunic. An active member of the Church of the Force,[2] the man[6] had this linen garment on[2] him[6] during Poe Dameron's visit[7] in 34 ABY.[8] After providing the guest with the Map to Skywalker, Tekka went out of his tent to confront the First Order emissary Kylo Ren, whose troops had launched an attack[7] on Tuanul,[2] Tekka's village. Refusing to reveal what he had done with the map, Tekka was murdered by the Master of the Knights of Ren.[7]

Linen appeared in the live-action television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, specifically in its debut in the pilot episode "This Could Be a Real Adventure,"[1] which aired on December 2, 2024.[9] The name of the clothing material depicted in the episode was specified in the Disney+ audio description.[3]

  4. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
