Liam was a Jedi youngling in the Jedi Temple during the Clone Wars. A part of the Bear Clan, he was one of its brightest members.
When Obi-Wan Kenobi disturbed Yoda's instruction of the Bear Clan on lightsaber usage for help on locating the planet Kamino, the venerable Grand Master told Liam to lower the shades so that the star map could be viewed.[1]
Behind the scenes
According to the Attack of the Clones DVD commentary, the character's name is a reference to Liam Neeson, the actor who played the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace.
