"I took in the sunrises off the southern gas marshes and fished the shores of Lake Haruuni, which is so high in the mountains that the fish practically float out of the water."
―Azita Cruuz[1]

Lake Haruuni was a lake located high in the mountains of[1] the planet[2] Haruun Kal. Due to its altitude, the fish that dwelt in the lake practically floated out of its dark waters when the Haruun Kal native Azita Cruuz fished for them alone from Lake Haruuni's rocky shores during her childhood. As an adult, Cruuz mentioned fishing at the lake to Jedi Knight Mace Windu when the pair met on the moon Ro Mira[1] by 48 BBY.[3]

Behind the scenes

Lake Haruuni appeared in a flashback in the third issue of the 2024 comic book miniseries Star Wars: Mace Windu. The issue was written by Marc Bernardin, illustrated by Georges Jeanty, and published by Marvel Comics[1] on April 17, 2024.[4]

  3. Mace Windu 3 establishes its events take place prior to Mace Windu's entry into the Jedi High Council. Master & Apprentice establishes that Windu is part of the Jedi Council at the time of Nim Pianna's death, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 48 BBY. Therefore, the events of Mace Windu 3 must take place by that year.
