The mutiny on the Advent was an incident that occurred[1] in 48 BBY[2] aboard the Advent, a cargo freighter tasked with delivering food to a famine stricken star system. During the mutiny, the head Jedi in charge of protecting the ship, Rael Averross, decided to confront the mutineers alongside his Padawan Nim Pianna in the cargo bay of the Advent as opposed to following normal procedure and retaking control of the bridge of the ship. The skirmish in the cargo bay between the mutineers and the two Jedi resulted in Pianna's death when she was hit by a slicer dart which caused her to briefly turn on her Master, forcing him to kill her with his lightsaber.[1]
Aftermath
By the end of the mutiny, all mutineers were either defeated or arrested. Upon return to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Averross was put on trial by the Jedi High Council who ruled that his actions were necessary to save the lives of the passengers of the Advent. After the trial, Averross was sent on an eight year assignment to mentor the planet's Princess Fanry, an assignment which he put all his energy in to to atone for his apprentice's death.[1]
