LEGO Star Wars: Empire vs Rebels was a free online browser game developed by LEGO. The goal of the game is to find a certain character, either Darth Vader or Kanan Jarrus, in each stage. In the process, players can take different paths and collect collectibles, which can either unlock additional playable characters or short video clips.

Opening crawl

The old Republic and the Jedi Order
have fallen. Now the Empire rules!

But a team of heroes still battles
against the tyranny of the Emperor
and his henchmen. They try to
outwit and outmaneuver the
Empire's forces, causing mischief
wherever they can and then
disappearing before they can be
caught.

Ezra Bridger is the newest recruit to
join this band of rebels. Help him
explore and collect the vital bricks
that the rebels need in their quest to
take down the Empire. And if Ezra
can mess up some Imperial plans
along the way, that's even better!

Good luck, Rebel — the galaxy is
counting on you!

Gameplay

In this game, you can select up to 6 levels. These levels are Hoth, Kamino, Geonosis, Coruscant, Lothal and Lothal Plains. The latter 2 being special Rebel Alliance levels. For levels 1 to 4, they have all the characters unlocked, but the Rebel Alliance levels only have Ezra Bridger unlocked. To unlock the rest, you need to find and collect every Rebel Alliance character's minifigure parts.

The normal levels character roster features a Snowtrooper, Luke Skywalker, a TIE pilot, a B2-series super battle droid and a green Astromech droid that has its head resembling a Christmas tree. For the Rebel Alliance levels, we have Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Wullffwarro, Hera Syndulla and Garazeb Orrelios.

In the normal levels, you will have to find Darth Vader to end the level. In the Rebel Alliance ones, you will have to find Kanan Jarrus. Enemies for the levels include a B2-series super battle droid, a Stormtrooper, a Snowtrooper and a Rebel trooper. Although the Stormtroopers wear Christmas hats. The levels also contain some normal platforms, gates, boulders, boxes, falling platforms, ladders, anvils, buttons, LEGO boulders that don't do damage, spikes and push-pull platforms that can crush you.

Continuity

In the beginning the game was called 2014 Advent Calendar and was the second game after LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar from 2013. In the Advent Calendar version, there were some small changes to the final version. Darth Vader, for example, wears a Santa Claus costume and the escape pod that is normally found at the start is replaced by a fireplace with Christmas decorations.
