A male individual was a politician and with his female spouse, was father to the eventual Jedi Kyp Durron and stormtrooper Zeth Durron. In 1 ABY,[4] the Durron family was arrested by the Galactic Empire for the parents' anti-Imperial opinions. In 2 ABY,[1] both of Kyp's parents were executed at the Spice Mines of Kessel.[2]

Jedi Search states that Durron was eight when the family was first sent to Kessel. Since he is eighteen in Dark Apprentice, which is set in 11 BBY according to The Essential Reader's Companion, the year of Kyp's mother's death can be calculated as 2 ABY.
