A metallic Compendium was owned by the Jedi Master Ky Narec before his death.[1] At some point, a replica was created and hidden on the Outer Rim swamp planet Lehanis.[2] Between 4 and 5 ABY,[3] rogue Imperial Grand Moff Ubrik Adelhard and the dark side cult the Acolytes of the Beyond lured Jedi Luke Skywalker to Lehanis as part of a strategy to spread New Republic forces thin.[2]

When Skywalker and New Republic pilot Rynn Zenat recovered the forgery, they were confronted by numerous Acolytes before eventually dropping the satchel in which they stored the supposed Compendium. The satchel and fake Compendium were subsequently stolen by rogue archaeologist Chelli Lona Aphra,[1] who quickly recognized the object as a fake. Aprha revealed the truth to Skywalker and left him with a warning about falling victim to false leads on Jedi artifacts.[2]
