"It's a very impressive showcase you've put together here. You know your stuff."
"Oh, thank you. It's a recreational hobby of mine."
"I don't think so… Kwa artifacts, Taotian and Bothan tech, these are all pieces an experienced and knowledgeable eye would look out for."
―Chelli Lona Aphra and Ilkemisti[1]

The Kwa were an entity that existed by[1] no earlier than 5 ABY.[2] The human collector Ilkemisti came into possession of Kwa artifacts, which he kept in his apartment on[1] the Core Worlds[3] planet Aargau. During the New Republic Era, while rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra traveled to Aargau with Jedi Luke Skywalker, Ilkemisti attempted to down play his collection by stating it was a recreational hobby of his. In response, Aphra countered the claim and noted that the Kwa artifacts, among others, were pieces that an experienced and knowledgeable eye would look out for.[1]

The Kwa were mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the second issue of the 2025 comic series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra – Chaos Agent. The issue was written by Cherish Chen and published by Marvel Comics[1] on July 23, 2025.[4]
