The Kurluvion system was located in the Weneen sector^[1] within the New Territories portion of^[2] the Outer Rim Territories.^[1]

The following section contains information from a Star Wars Tales 1–20 story that was referenced in no other Star Wars Legends source. Lucasfilm considered all Tales 1–20 content that was not "completely outrageous or intentionally comic" to have some level of canonicity within the Legends continuity. Editor discretion is advised.

In 0 BBY,^[4] a Snivvian approached the Human smuggler Han Solo in Chalmun's Cantina^[3] in the Mos Eisley settlement of the planet Tatooine, in the Outer Rim's Arkanis sector.^[2] Claiming that the inhabitants of the Kurluvion system loved consuming holographic pornography of the Hutt^[3] species,^[2] the Snivvian attempted to hire Solo's services in transporting a shipment of such material that the former needed delivered to the system overnight. Solo, however, refused the job offer, claiming the smuggling of Hutt holoporn conflicted with^[3] his^[2] integrity.^[3]

The Kurluvion system was first mentioned in the comic story "Smuggler's Blues."

The Kurluvion system was first mentioned in "Smuggler's Blues," a comic story written by the Fillbach Brothers and included in the fourteenth issue of the Star Wars Tales comic book series by Dark Horse Comics,^[3] published on December 11, 2002.^[5] Plausible stories in the first through twentieth issue of Star Wars Tales were deemed S-canon until referenced in a non-Tales source, at which point the subject matter was elevated to C-canon status.^[6] The first C-canon mention of the star system itself came with the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square N-6.^[2]
