The Krovi family was a Chiss family in the Chiss Ascendancy, the nation of the Chiss species. They were once allies of the ruling Irizi family, but after Senior Captain Thrawn of the ruling Mitth family—who were political adversaries of the Irizi—discovered advanced shielding technology, the Krovi ended their alliance with the Irizi.[1]
Later, Syndic Prime Mitth'urf'ianico, core name 'Thurfian,' of the Mitth family brokered an agreement with the Krovi to supply them with enough transports for their projected harvest overage in exchange for one percent of that overage going to the Mitth. Though one percent was a low gain, Thurfian hoped the uneven deal would allow him to tap into the Krovi's gratitude and gain insight into the Stybla family's transport system, who were also helping the Krovi and who's efficiency the Mitth wished to replicate. At the same time, the Irizi were trying to broker a deal with the Krovi, but after Thurfian spoke with Syndic Irizi'stal'mustro, core name 'Zistalmu,' the Irizi decided to abandon it.[2]
