Kourterel, a lieutenant in the Galactic Empire, had a family on the astronomical object Vanzeist, including his child.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] Prelate Verge of the Imperial Ruling Council asked after Kourterel's child aboard[1] the Imperial-class Star Destroyer[3] Herald, further promising the lieutenant that a detail of stormtroopers would protect his family from rebels on Vanzeist. Captain Tabor Seitaron, who was liaising with Verge at the time, later recollected the Verge's promise about Kourterel's family when thinking about his time with the prelate.[1]
