Kleya's brooch

Kleya's brooch was a palm-sized tool owned by Kleya Marki that could be disguised as an elegant brooch. Plated with metal it could be transformed into a type of key which could be used to open a specialized secret compartment.^[2]

In 3 BBY,^[3] Marki wore the it as a brooch to a Senate Investiture party hosted by Davo Sculdun at his office on Coruscant. While at the party Marki, with the help of rebel operative Lonni Jung, used the brooch to remove a listening device Marki's rebel network at placed in the Tinian Codex an artifact on display in Sculdun's artifact collection. With Jung blocking the sight of other guests, Marki removed her brooch and inserted it into a recessed section of the stand displaying the Codex. During the process the tool hit a snag and Jung held the codex with both hands while Marki strained to turn the tool, eventually causing the tool draw blood from her hand. She was ultimately successful and was able to remove the device before the collection was set to be examined following the party.^[1]
