The Kilji homeland was located in the Unknown Regions and was home to the Kilji species. It was also the point of origin from which the Kilji nation, the Kilji Illumine, expanded and engaged in conquests of several Unknown Regions worlds with the goal of spreading what the Illumine perceived as enlightenment.[1]
In 18 BBY,[2] the Illumine entered an alliance with the warlike Grysk species. The Illumine's leader, Generalirius Nakirre, at one point wished to kill the Grysk agent and military leader "Jixtus" as revenge for the Grysk manipulation the Kilji had suffered. However, the Grysks had knowledge of both the secret location of the Illumine's Kilhorde battle fleet and—in Nakirre's opinion, even more critically—the location of the Kilji homeland. As a result, Nakirre feared that an attack on Jixtus would lead to a fleet of Grysk warships exterminating the entire Kilji species in retaliation, and he instead continued to assist with Jixtus's military campaign.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Kilji homeland was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the last volume in Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy by author Timothy Zahn.[1]
