Kevdan Aerosystems was a company that manufactured hydro-glycolic fuel cells. The R2-series astromech droid R2-D2 was equipped with hydro-glycolic fuel cells manufactured by Kevdan Aerosystems.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kevdan Aerosystems was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2019 reference book Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition.[1] The name originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first created by special effects artist Don Bies for the 2006 reference book Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary. Bies created the name as a reference to Kevin Vincent, an R2-D2 operator in Walt Disney World and Daniel Deutsch, who provided R2 units and other robots to the Disney theme parks.[2]
