"At this time, we have a number of active operatives within the Empire. Some are new, others have been supplying reliable intel for years. Our roster draws from the Empire's military, its bureaucracy, and its civil government. Please review the following names and profiles to get a sense of our range concerning future operations."
―General Airen Cracken's message to Commander-in-Chief Mon Mothma, The Rebel Files[1]

Kerri Lessev was a Galactic Empire major who secretly served as an operative of the Rebel Alliance's Intelligence Service.[1] At some point between approximately 2 ABY and 3 ABY,[2] the Alliance's Chief of Intelligence General Airen Cracken included Lessev on a list of names and profiles of Rebel operatives holding Imperial positions. The list was then sent in a classified document to the Alliance's Commander-in-Chief Mon Mothma for a review in order to prepare for future operations.[1]

The operatives listed were both new intelligence assets and ones who had already been supplying the Alliance with information for years, and the agents were operating from inside the Empire's military as well as its bureaucratic systems and its civil government. Cracken additionally suggested to Mothma that extraction plans be reviewed for those operatives for situations of compromised cover. The archivist Hendri Underholt eventually included the document in a compilation of non-electronic documents called The Rebel Files.[1]

Behind the scenes

Kerri Lessev was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in Daniel Wallace's 2017 reference book and boxed set Star Wars: The Rebel Files.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the character was created by David R. Tulo, Jr. and was introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. She was illustrated by Mike Vilardi.[3]
