Kellogg's C-3PO's commercial 2 was a TV commercial made by the company Kellogg's in 1984, to promote C-3PO's cereal.[2] Other commercials were made, as well.

Plot summary

C-3PO, holding a metal case, and R2-D2 are on a rocky planet as Threepio proclaims, "We're lost!" Artoo detects lifeforms before one of the tall rocks is revealed as a rock-like alien who fires a blaster at the droids. The creature yells a word in his language that Threepio translates as "food" and removes a box of C-3PO's cereal from the metal case. Elsewhere, two Human boys are enjoying the cereal and one believes now the Force is with them. Then the happy rocky-like creature asks for more cereal and several others of his species reveal themselves, worrying C-3PO. The commercial ends with the slogan "A New Force at Breakfast."[2]

A later variation of this commercial shortens some of the alien scenes to promote the Kellogg's Star Wars Series trading cards found free in packages of the cereal.[3]

Continuity

The commercial stars actor Anthony Daniels as C-3PO,[1] and parts of John Williams' Star Wars theme are played.[2] An in-universe version of C-3PO's cereal appeared in the picture book Darth Vader and Son.[4]
