- "Kamori's Zethusian plains were shaken by tremendous quakes this week, which caused serious damage to Jandal, Hyra, and Kimora City, and resulted in several hundred thousand deaths."
- ―A news report by Hypermedia Galactic News Service
Kamori was a world in the Core Worlds. Its most accomplished artists were sometimes awarded the title of "living treasure", which was granted to the Glanthe painter Dana Dregond around 10 BBY. In 0 ABY, the Zethusian plains on Kamori were struck by a series of powerful groundquakes. They resulted in the deaths of several hundred thousand people and extensive damage to three cities in the area.
Description
- "Further damage was done to outlying coastal areas by tidal waves generated by the quakes."
- ―A news report by Hypermedia Galactic News Service
Kamori was a terrestrial world[2] located in the Kamori system of the Core Worlds.[1] Its surface featured coastal areas.[2]
History
- "Among the dead was Glanthe master Dana Dregond […]. She was designated 10 years ago as one of Kamori's "living treasures," an honor sparingly accorded to the world's most accomplished masters of the arts."

Around 10 BBY,[3] the Glanthe painter Dana Dregond, who was widely regarded as Glanthe school's premiere artist in Kamori's sector, was awarded Kamori's honorary title of "living treasure". Ten years later, a series of powerful groundquakes occurred in Kamori's Zethusian plains region. They resulted in the deaths of several hundred thousand people, including Dregond, and caused significant damage to three cities in the area. In addition, tidal waves caused by the quakes led to further damage to outlying coastal areas.[2]
In response, Kamori's Chamber President Thane Dregond declared the area affected by the quakes to be eligible for government disaster relief and petitioned the world's Galactic Empire governor for additional relief funds. On the date 36:2:4, within a week of the disaster, the groundquakes on Kamori were covered in a news report by Hypermedia Galactic News Service, issued from Tandaro on Kamori.[2]
Inhabitants
- "Chamber President Thane Dregond declared the disaster area eligible for government disaster relief, and is petitioning the governor for Imperial relief funds as well."

Kamori's population numbered more than several hundred thousand. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the world was overseen by an Imperial governor, and the local government administrating the area of the Zethusian plains was led by a Chamber President. "Living treasure" was an honor rarely bestowed upon Kamori's most accomplished artists.[2]
Locations
- "Direct damage from the quakes all but dismantled the transportation infrastructure in both Hyra and Kimora, and several areas of the three cities are still without running water and power."
- ―A news report by Hypermedia Galactic News Service
Kamori was the site of the location known as the Zethusian plains, which hosted the cities Hyra, Jandal, and Kimora City. The location Tandaro was also situated on Kamori.[2]
Behind the scenes
Kamori was introduced by Paul Sudlow in the "Galaxywide NewsNets" feature of the fifth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal, which was published in February 1995.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Kamori system, and therefore the world itself, in grid square M-11.[1]

"Galaxywide NewsNets" — Star Wars Adventure Journal 5 stating that Dana Dregond was awarded the title of "living treasure" ten years prior is set on the date "36:2:4," which corresponds to 0 ABY per the reasoning here. Per The New Essential Chronology, that means Dregond was awarded the title around 10 BBY.
