Kamino Engineering was a vehicle manufacturing company based on the planet Kamino, homeworld of the sentient Kaminoans. It produced the KE-UW33 submarine to explore the watery depths of Kamino's oceans. The submersible vessels were also used during the Clone Wars.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kamino Engineering was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Other Vehicles, which was written by Landry Q. Walker.[1] The company originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in 2004 novel Republic Commando: Hard Contact, which was written by Karen Traviss.[3]
