"You can take the body to whoever you want, but I assure you, this man was murdered. That smell. Bitter citrine. Like a too-ripe kakadu fruit."
―Jas Emari, to New Republic pilot Wedge Antilles[1]

Kakadu fruit was a fruit that had a bitter citrine smell when it was too ripe.[1] In 5 ABY,[2] the bounty hunter Jas Emari inspected the body of the ex–Imperial Vice Admiral Perwin Gedde, considering the smell of it—which was similar to the fruit—and the presence of mycotoxin poison in his mouth to conclude that he had been murdered.[1]

Behind the scenes

Kakadu fruit was mentioned in Aftermath: Life Debt, a 2016 novel written by Chuck Wendig as the second installment in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.[1]
