Kafrene Rescue Salvage was a rescue organization located on the Ring of Kafrene^[1] trading outpost,^[3] formed by the year 5 BBY. In that year,^[2] the salvage group detected an adrift GPE 7000 transport utilized by the rebel organization of Anto Kreegyr in space near Kafrene. Finding the transport unresponsive, Kafrene Rescue Salvage discovered that the pilot appeared to have frozen from a hydraulic failure upon its exiting of hyperspace. Unknown to the rescue group, however, the Galactic Empire's security bureau had staged the pilot's death in the cockpit, forcing it to be towed into Kafrene in order to draw out Kreegyr and convince him to continue his raid on an Imperial power station located at Spellhaus.^[1]
