The "Junk Armada" was a fabled fleet of hundreds of decommissioned starships yoked together by magnetic fields that traveled through the galaxy.[1] By 3643 BBY,[2] the Armada was controlled by an eccentric "admiral."[1] Around that year,[2] the Junk Armada passed through a sector of space at the same time an individual affiliated with one of the factions in the then-ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire was there.[1]
The individual sent a companion to search the Armada for useful items. The admiral of the fleet became fond of the companion and allowed them to search those vessels that remained more intact. The companion subsequently returned from the Junk Armada with a large haul of scrap materials.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Junk Armada was mentioned as part of the Crew Skill Mission "The Junk Armada" in the 2011 BioWare video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic. The information about the mission's outcome was later removed from the game.[1]

Star Wars: The Old Republic — Scavenging Crew Skill mission: "The Junk Armada"
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "The Junk Armada" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
