"Ever notice how some people always seem as fresh as Jovarian sun ferns, even after the most demanding day? Or what about those who brave the heat of Varadan's twin suns and never seem to perspire?"
―Advertisement for the CSC-5000 body glove in the fiftieth-anniversary edition of Galladinium's Galactic Datalog of Fantastic Technology[1]

The Jovarian sun fern was a type of fern[1] that originated in[3] the Jovaria system of the Inner Rim's Hapes Cluster.[2] At some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY,[4] an advertisement for the Kamperdine Clothing Specialists' climate-controlled CSC-5000 body glove in the fiftieth-anniversary edition of Galladinium's Galactic Datalog of Fantastic Technology made a rhetorical inquiry of whether the datalog's reader had ever noticed any individuals who had appeared to be as "fresh" as Jovarian sun ferns, with the implication that such people were using the CSC-5000.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Jovarian sun fern was mentioned in Galladinium's Fantastic Technology, a 1995 sourcebook authored by Rick D. Stuart for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1]
