Joopa prods,[4] also known as electro-poles, were a type of electrostaff used by Gregor, Kanan Jarrus and his Padawan Ezra Bridger to help them catch the elusive joopa that Gregor called the Big Bongo. After Big Bongo swallowed the Lasat Garazeb Orrelios whole, Gregor assigned the Jedi to use Joopa prods to hit the AT-TE's regulator laser line,[3] which led into the monster's gut.[5] Their hits through the regulator line charged the Joopa prods, sending bolts of energy down to the joopa, eventually forcing the Big Bongo to burst through Seelos's[3] salty surface.[6] Once the joopa emerged above the surface, Rex was able to fire one shot from the walker's main mass-driver cannon, killing the Big Bongo.[3]

The Joopa prod was first pictured in Star Wars Rebels: Visual Guide: Epic Battles,[5] which released on October 6, 2015,[7] where it was identified as an electro-pole.[5] The weapon made its first appearance eight days later on October 14, 2015, on Disney XD,[8] in "The Lost Commanders," the third episode of Star Wars Rebels second season, where it was also called an electro-pole.[3] The weapon was later identified as a Joopa prod in the Concept Art Gallery from the StarWars.com episode guide for "The Lost Commanders." The concept art was created by Kilian Plunkett and dated to July 30, 2014.[4]
