John Korty (June 22, 1936[1]—March 9, 2022[2]) was the director of Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (1984). In 1978, Korty won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement – Informational Programming for his work on Who Are the DeBolts? And Where Did They Get Nineteen Kids? For Lucasfilm, he also directed the animated feature Twice Upon a Time.[3]
