Individuals celebrate Life Day aboard the Millennium Falcon.
- "Oh, more Wookiee fur and tree pollen?"
"Joy!" - ―Rose Tico and Poe Dameron, during a Life Day celebration involving the song
"Joh Blastoh"[2] was a Life Day song originally sung in the Huttese language. During a Life Day celebration aboard the Millennium Falcon, Finn performed the song, which was his personal favorite, with instrumental accompaniment by Max Rebo on his red ball jett organ. Whilst attending sentients, as well as a murder of porgs, found Finn's performance unpleasant initially, the group overcame their aversion when Rose Tico pointed out that Finn was singing the original Huttese version of the song, and joined Finn in singing "Joh Blastoh" together to celebrate the day of life. The attending Poe Dameron was thus moved to tears of joy by the collective celebration of Life Day he was witnessing before his eyes.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "I did something for this show that just might end up being the personal highlight of my career."
- ―Leland Chee, on writing the song for The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special
"Joh Blastoh" appears in The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, released on Disney+ in 2020. The Keeper of the Holocron, Leland Chee, wrote the song for the holiday special. Chee stated that his contribution might become the personal highlight of his career,[3] and provided the lyrics to the song on Twitter on the same day as the special's release.[4] The whole of the song was released on December 21 of the same year on a video published by the official Star Wars YouTube channel, which provides accompanying lyrics for the full version of "Joh Blastoh":
- "Joh blastoh, Joh blastoh
Blastoh moulee rah
O ta panwa yataka
Bo eopie choppa
Jee bolla kyotopa hotu
Bo eopie choppa
Hari tish ding
Ho ho moulee rah
Joh o tooka rundee
Koo rundee spira gusha
Haka panwa yataka tah
Choppa singee hunka be
Joh blastoh, Joh blastoh
Blastoh moulee rah
O ta panwa yataka
Bo eopie choppa"
The song has the same melody as "Jingle Bells" in real-life, and Leland Chee stated that "eopie" in the lyrics of "Joh Blastoh" was intended to replace "horse" in "Jingle Bells"[2]
