- "They promised us wealth and power, boss. Please, forgive us. Please, don't kill us. We beg of you."
- ―Jiro at the mercy of Hondo Ohnaka
Jiro was a male Weequay pirate who was a lieutenant in Hondo Ohnaka's Gang during the Clone Wars. Two years into the conflict, Jiro's ship was boarded by the renegade Sith Lord Maul and his brother Savage Opress, who demanded they give them their allegiance. Jiro decided to betray Ohnaka and serve the new masters and followed them into battle against[2] his[3] former comrades on Florrum. After the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Adi Gallia arrived and dueled the brothers, Ohnaka lured Jiro and the remaining traitors into a trap, convincing them to rejoin him by revealing the brothers’ true goal. The now united Ohnaka Gang aided Kenobi in driving Maul and Opress from Florrum, with Jiro hitting Maul's cybernetic legs as the two Sith retreated.[2]
Behind the scenes
Jiro first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Revival."[2] A character illustration of Jiro was done by artist Pat Presley. The Weequay's weapon was a reused model of Rumi Paramita's blaster from "Bounty Hunters," an earlier episode in the series.[4]
