The Jestan system was situated in the Expansion Region's Corpheli sector, a part of both the Outer Expansion Zone sub-region and the Northern Dependencies portion of that region.[1] The star system was located on a hyperlane that connected it to the Belukat and Corphelion systems,[3] and it contained the terrestrial planet Jestan.[2]

At some point by 2 ABY,[4] a major battle[2] of the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance[5] was fought on Jestan.[2] The Jestan system was part of the New Republic between 12 ABY and 13 ABY. In 12 ABY, the New Republic dispatched the fleet carrier Endurance to participate in a military campaign against the forces of the Imperial Remnant. To that end, the Endurance traveled from the Corphelion system to the Belukat system, passing through the Jestan system in the process.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Jestan system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square M-7.[1]

Furthermore, The Essential Atlas places that star system in the Northern Dependencies, and The Essential Guide to Warfare places the Corpheli sector in the portion of the Expansion Region between the Mondress and Lostar sectors. Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters establishes both Mondress and Lostar sectors to have been a part of the Outer Expansion Zone, which the Star Wars: Force and Destiny Core Rulebook further defines as a sub-region located in the northern section of the Expansion Region. Therefore, the Jestan system must also have been a part of the Outer Expansion Zone.
