Jestan

Jestan was a terrestrial planet[2] located in the Jestan system. It was a part of the Expansion Region's Corpheli sector, being located both in the Outer Expansion Zone sub-region and the Northern Dependencies portion of that region.[1] Jestan lay on a hyperlane linking it to the Belukat and Corphelion systems.[3]

At some point by 2 ABY,[4] the Rebel Alliance prevailed on Jestan in a major battle[2] of the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire[5] that became known as the Engagement at Jestan.[2] Between 12 ABY and 13 ABY, Jestan fell within the borders of the New Republic.[3]

Behind the scenes

Jestan's name was introduced via a mention of the Engagement at Jestan in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[5] 2008's The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia subsequently established Jestan as a distinct planet.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Jestan system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square M-7.[1]
