"I don't mind telling you, she's half the reason I fly across the galaxy to get my power couplings serviced. Uh. Don't tell Solo I said that."
BoShek[2]

Jessa Vandangante was a female Human who was the daughter of Klaus "Doc" Vandangante and Shardra, leaders of a group of outlaw techs operating in and around the Corporate Sector.

Biography

Jessa's mother Shardra died while Jessa was still young, leaving Jessa to be raised by her father Doc. Jessa inherited leadership skills from both her late mother and grandmother, Doc's mother Carmilla Vandangante, and soon Jessa was second-in-command of the outlaw techs, leading the group when Doc was called away to negotiate deals or scout new base locations.

Jessa had contact with Han Solo, but didn't hear from the smuggler for a standard year. When her father disappeared, Jessa stepped into the role of leader, keeping the band together despite panicked suggestions that the they should abandon what they had built. Suspecting that her father had been captured by the Corporate Sector Authority, Jessa made a deal with Han and Chewbacca to aide Rekkon, a scholar on Orron III, in locating several missing political prisoners in the Sector. Solo not only found the Authority's secret Stars' End prison, but he destroyed it and rescued Doc and the other prisoners. Doc, Jessa, and their outlaw techs next relocated to Urdur. She and Han enjoyed a brief romance before Han returned to his smuggling ways.[1]

Personality and traits

Vandangate was a tall woman with curly blonde hair, brown eyes, and freckles over her nose, the latter acquired through exposure to a variety of suns on many different planets.[1]

Jessa could be scornful towards Han Solo, treating him with disdain when he returned after a year's absence. She rebuked his callous attitude, but turned sharply to business in order to make a deal with him.[1]
