"If you need more resources, Jesi here can sell them to you."
Raine Taske, to a spacer[1]

Jesi was a male Bith merchant who lived during the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, he resided on board Tansarii Point Station, in the Bright Jewel system, where he worked as a resource vendor. Hence, he often provided resources for Raine Taske, an artisan and trader living on the station.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] a spacer who was himself an artisan arrived on Tansarii Point Station and started working with Raine Taske. Jesi sold him various resources to craft different kinds of items such as clothing,[1] food,[3] and survey tools.[4]

Behind the scenes

Jesi appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[5] Jesi was added to the game as part of the "New Player Tutorial,"[1] introduced with the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[6]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
