Sometime between 102 BBY and 81 BBY,[2] the Jedi Order sent a group of Jedi Knights to[1] the Outer Rim Territories[3] planet Dathomir to intervene in the operations of the Nightsisters,[1] a coven of witches native to the planet who were affiliated with the wider Witches of Dathomir society.[4] One of the Sisters, who later went on to be known as "She" by the people of the planet Shira, was able to escape the Jedi by stowing away in a starship operated by pirates that had docked on Dathomir.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Jedi's intervention on Dathomir was mentioned in "« Elle »," a roleplaying adventure written by Philippe Rat and published in the one hundred ninth issue of the French gaming magazine Casus Belli, in October 1997. Casus Belli was unaffiliated with Lucasfilm, and its adventures served as supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1] As a result, the adventure is considered non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[5]

The adventure dates itself to sometime during the Galactic Civil War, which The Essential Atlas establishes as taking place between 2 BBY and 19 ABY. Therefore, the event must have taken place sometime between 102 BBY and 81 BBY.

Lucasfilm treats material from the various unlicensed roleplaying game magazines as non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity, with the only exceptions being the existence of those worlds and star systems that are referenced in The Essential Atlas and its StarWars.com Online Companion, and any other details that were referenced in, and thus canonized by, an official source.
