The Jedi Vanguards were a group within the Jedi Order[1] that were committed to the defense of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.[3] Jedi Vanguards included Mace Windu, Jocasta Nu, and Kelleran Beq.[1]
Behind the scenes
The title "Jedi Vanguard" first appeared in the mobile video game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, developed by EA Capital Games, where a human and a Mon Calamari Jedi Vanguards appeared as two of the Jedi enemies within the Mod Battles. The textures of the two are also used for other types of Jedi enemies within the game.[1] On January 31, 2025,[4] the introduction of Jocasta Nu introduced the "Jedi Vanguard" faction to the game, which was retroactively applied to other Jedi characters. The developers of Galaxy of Heroes said that they created the group as they wanted a new sub-faction for the already huge Jedi faction to allow for a squad that could be led by a new Jedi character without making him too overpowered.[3] Later in May of that year, the Jedi Vanguard leader was revealed to be the Galactic Legends character "Jedi Master Mace Windu".[5]
