The Jedha Markets, also known as Jedha's primary marketplace, was a location in the Holy City of Jedha. The market covered a large area of the Holy City, hosting many market stalls and vendors.
In 382 BBY, the market was especially busy due to the upcoming Festival of Balance, with vendors selling goods such as roast tip-yip, spiced ranga, supata, seared Spiridian lizards, Batuuan spider-roach, and nuts. Animals were also brought to be sold or displayed. The Path of the Open Hand purchased an almshouse on one side of the market, and were known to pass through the markets handing out flowers and chanting their creed. Just before the Battle of Jedha, some wargarans brought for the festival were set loose by a child from the Path, wreaking havoc on the marketplace until the Path took it upon themselves to round up the creatures. During the Battle of Jedha, the marketplace became a chaotic battleground, first due to the riot stirred up by the Herald of the Path in the central square, and then the renewed hostilities between the forces from Eiram and E'ronoh.[3]
