The Jantsk mercenaries was a mercenary group based on the planet Endor. It was named after its leader, Vurrha Jantsk. During the Galactic Civil War, Jantsk and his mercenaries went to the Mid Rim planet of Naboo in order to attack Queen Kylantha's chambers. Unbeknownst to his men, Jantsk and his group had been hired by Emperor Palpatine himself for this mission. When the job was done, their leader was assassinated by an unidentified Imperial spacer on the Emperor's orders.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Jantsk mercenaries appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[2] The Jantsk mercenaries were added to the game with the revamped "Imperial Theme Park,"[1] released with the "Chapter 6.12" update, on September 13, 2007.[3]
