- "There is a little known group of mercenaries on Endor known as the Jantsk mercenaries. You will approach their leader on my behalf. He is expecting you, but those in his employ must not know that the Empire is hiring them. Leave at once and deliver to Vurrha Jantsk my instructions."
- ―Emperor Palpatine, to an Imperial spacer
Vurrha Jantsk was a Zabrak male who served as the leader of the Jantsk mercenaries, a mercenary group based on the planet Endor.
Biography
- "The Emperor sent you? I understand his wishes. But first you need to retrieve a datadisk from a Rebel base on Dantooine. Return after you have it and after it has been altered by an Imperial operative in Kaadara."
- ―Vurrha Jantsk, to an Imperial spacer
During the Galactic Civil War, Emperor Palpatine sent an unidentified Imperial spacer on Endor to work with Jantsk in a plot to discredit the Rebel Alliance in the eyes of the monarch of Naboo, Queen Kylantha. The Queen had proven her loyalty many times over to Palpatine, but he eventually came to suspect that her sympathies actually lay with the Rebellion.[2]
Jantsk and his men's mission was to go to the Mid Rim world and attack Queen Kylantha's chambers. Thanks to a falsified datadisk, the attack would then be attributed to the Rebels. On the Emperor's instructions, it was imperative that none of Jantsk's men knew that the Empire was hiring them. When his usefulness came to an end, Jantsk was killed in his base by the Imperial spacer on Palpatine's orders. This way, any connection to the Empire disappeared with Jantsk.[2]

Notes and references
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
