"My dad and my aunt fought against the Empire. But she died. Da lost his arm. My parents brought us here. I want to be brave like that."
―Jac Lodain, to Izal Garsea — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[1]

The father of the Twi'lek farmer Jac Lodain was a male individual who fought against the Galactic Empire alongside Lodain's aunt. The former had lost his arm, while the latter had died. Jac Lodain was born to his father and mother[1] in 18 ABY.[2] At some point after his son's birth, the father brought the family to settle on the Outer Rim planet Batuu.[1] By 34 ABY,[2] Jac was working as a farmer at Kat Saka's farm on Batuu, harvesting purple Surabat grain.[1]

Months after the Hosnian Cataclysm[1] in 34 ABY,[2] Jac Lodain told the smuggler Izal Garsea how his family came to Batuu. He mentioned his mother noticing Resistance presence around Batuu's ancient ruins, but that his father had entreated her to keep it quiet because of the First Order stormtroopers deployed on the planet. Lodain wished to bravely fight for a cause like his father, who had fought against the Empire. Garsea encouraged him to protect his family instead.[1]

Behind the scenes

Jac Lodain's father was mentioned in A Crash of Fate, a 2019 young-adult novel written by Zoraida Córdova.[1]
