Jaako was a male who was a captain within the Tonvarr pirates, a group of pirates that learned of the planet Ilum's location while it was being visited by the Gree starship Gray Secant. Raiding parties under Jaako's leadership looted powerful Gree technology from the planet, arming themselves with Gree weapons and armor until Jaako was killed during the Galactic War.[2]

Jaako was first added to the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic in Game Update 1.7: Return of the Gree, as the final enemy in one of the Daily missions during the Relics of the Gree World Event—"Unexpected Variables" and "External Variables" for Republic and Imperial players respectively..[2]
