"JM-909" was the designation of a human male Imperial Stormtrooper Commander.[1] In 1 BBY,[2] he was stationed on[1] the planet[3] Tatooine as the unit leader of his squad. He and his squad were eventually ambushed by a band of Tusken Raiders, who stole their rations and weapons. JM-909 alone survived the attack and was soon discovered and nursed back to health by the hermit Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. After regaining consciousness, JM-909 briefly stole Kenobi's lightsaber, but dropped it before running from his home. Upon returning to the Empire, he was heavily chastized by his commander while uttering only the word "Ben," the name Kenobi had gone by.[1]
