J8R-1, nicknamed Jayterr, was an astromech droid active during the Cold War. J8R-1 served the Republic as a courier on, Coruscant, Taris and later Carrick Station, delivering messages and mission briefings from the Emergency Response Corps to Republic personnel aboard. During the Cold War, he transmitted a message from Grand Master Satele Shan to a group of heroes, asking them to come to Carrick Station for a mission. He was excited about them working for Master Satele and hoped to hear their stories when they would come back.[1]

J8R-1 is a Flashpoint courier in the BioWare MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. He appears on Coruscant, Taris, and Carrick Station, delivering a message to players from Grand Master Satele Shan about the "Hammer Station" flashpoint.[1]
