The Istabith range was a mountain range on Core Worlds planet Alderaan. The range shared its name with the Istabith Falls, waterfalls located on the same world. During the Imperial Era, an eponymous garrison operated in the Istabith range's vicinity that was staffed by several guards affiliated with the Royal Palace of Alderaan.[2]
In 3 BBY,[3] the Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa and a few palace guards traveled in a suborbital jumper headed toward the Istabith range to drop off supplies. Midway through their journey, the vessel stopped and let Organa disembark at her pathfinding class's chalet before continuing on their resupply run.[2] By 0 BBY, the Istabith range had been destroyed[1] along with the rest of Alderaan by the Galactic Empire's Death Star battle station.[4]
