The Iska system was located in the Iska sector of the Mid Rim.[1] It was the origin point of the Iska pirates.[3][4] In 17 BBY, the system fell within the territory held by Separatist holdouts.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Iska system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square K-17.[2]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Iska pirates in relation to the Iska system.
