Irith was a terrestrial[2] planet[3] located in the Irith system, a part of the Hutt Space portion of the Slice. It was a motley stop on the Ootmian Pabol hyperlane between the Du Hutta and Nar Bo Sholla systems. An overcrowded, polluted world,[1] Irith was the homeworld of the criminal Romort Raort, where, during his childhood, he was a bully who shaked down other children for their lunch money.[2]
The hyperwave signal interceptors at the Galactic Empire's Oktos Zone Imperial Outpost on the planet Toydaria could monitor lightspeed activity at Irith.[4] The Irith system was conquered by the military forces of the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong at some point between 26 ABY and 27 ABY during their conquest of the galaxy.[1]
Behind the scenes
Irith was first mentioned in the Dark Empire Sourcebook, Michael Allen Horne's 1993 sourcebook published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed it in grid square S-11.[1]
