An ion smoke bomb was a type of smoke grenade that released a burst of ion particles along with its smoke payload allowing the grenade to effect droids as well as organics. Flux compressors were a key component in constructing ion smoke bomb. By 3 ABY,[2] a flux compressor had been stored in a smuggler hideout on a cliff overlooking Lake Amari on the Outer Rim Territories planet Akiva.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess learned of the flux compressor at smuggler hideout. She later traveled to the hideout, recovered the compressor and with the help of Temmin Wexley was able to start using it to construct ion smoke grenades.[1]
Behind the scenes
Ion smoke bomb first appeared as weapon in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. It was one of two upgrades that players could unlock for their smoke bombs. [1]
